Hey, Mr DJ

DJ Exo's real name is Ian Thiel. Born February 22, 1989 in Wiesbaden, Germany, both his mother and father served in the US Army and were stationed throughout Germany. In 1995 he moved to America for the first time, living on Fort Meade, Maryland. Throughout school he always had strong passion for music, spending hours at night listening to the latest Eminem or Dr. Dre CD.

In 2005 his father was reassigned to El Paso, Texas, where the Thiel family lived for a year before moving back to Fort Meade. It was here in 2006 that Ian began working with BoB Radio, streaming online. It was also this time period that he discovered Electronica, falling head over heals for Trance and DnB specifically.

In the fall of 2007 Ian was off to college, attending York College of Pennsylvania, eventually wandering into the office of WVYC York and soon finding himself with an AM slot and a laptop full of music. A match made in heaven.

Today, Ian is a 2nd year student at York College of Pennsylvania double-majoring in Business Administration and Informatics, with hopes to complete a five year MBA program. He enjoys long drives on winding roads, mixing sets at 4am, and hanging out with his awesome girlfriend, Tasha.
